Why we made it
Smarter Security
Unlike analogue combination locks where a bad actor can attempt to guess the password an unlimited amount of times without consequence, our digital lockout feature stops repeated attempts and logs them for you in the app.
OTP security
We borrowed One Time Password (OTP) security from the banking sector to allow you to verify a user wanting to access your key box with a dynamic password that updates every minute from anywhere in the world.
Password reset
Analogue locks are a pain to reset which often translates to the password staying the same for the lifetime of the lock. That’s bad news for the security of your key box especially if you’re managing an Airbnb. Our unit allows you to set expiration dates so you can effortlessly offer unique passwords.
User error
Once the code has been unlocked on a classic combination lock you’re supposed to move each wheel to hide the real password. In practice we know most people barely make a half hearted attempt to randomise it. Compare that to our keypad design which leaves no clues after the user inputs the code.
Fiddly user experience
Adjusting the wheels of a combination lock has never been a particularly pleasant experience. It always takes just a little too long and as they age the process gets worse. In today’s world tapping on a keypad is second nature and is much quicker.

Is the Digital Key Box a better option than a traditional combination lock box?
We designed our digital key box especially to overcome the security risks of an analogue combination lock. Issues like allowing unlimited guesses, users failing to sufficiently randomise the wheels after successful unlock and the general fiddly operation of the wheels especially as they age.
Can I use the Digital Key Box for an Airbnb setup?
Yes. It’s ideal for short-stay access. You can create unique codes for each guest and let them self-check-in. You can even set their access code to expire at the end of their stay automatically. If you forget or there is a change of circumstances the app lets you give instant access or create a new code remotely.
Can the digital lock store multiple codes for different people at the same time?
Absolutely. You can create unique fixed codes for family, cleaners or even staff and revoke access at any time. Every unlock is logged, so you know who entered and when.
Can I change access codes easily?
It is very easy to change codes via the app. You can generate, update, or delete codes instantly. You can also create one-time or time-restricted codes for tradies, cleaners or Airbnb guests.
What happens if the battery dies?
You will get low-battery alerts through the app well before it runs out but in the event that the battery fails we have included a physical lock and key so you will always have a way in.
What can I store inside?
The compartment is large enough to fit multiple keys, access cards, fobs and other small essentials. Inner measurements are: 90mm x 40mm x 160mm
How does installation work?
It mounts securely to brick, concrete or timber walls with pre-drilled holes in the frame and the screws provided in the package. We also include 2x AA batteries for your convenience. Most customers complete installation in under 10 minutes with basic tools.
What if someone tries to break into it?
The lockout feature stops PIN guessing and the app notifies you of attempts, and the hardened zinc alloy keypad backing and galvanised steel frame makes it extremely difficult to pry open. It is built to deter both tampering and forced entry.
